My Memories

I have three favorite memories from this school year. My absolute favorite memory was winning the TUPE poster contest from the school and throughout the whole district! I won the district’s first pair of AirPods from my school and an iPad and Apple Pencil. This is my best memory because my hard work paid off, and I won something special. In addition, I also won a gift card for mental health! Another memory I found is of doing the 20% project. This project enlightened my school year, and I just wrapped up my year with a bang. Also, this process was fun, and I got to do a talent I rarely had time for. Also, this project brought back many memories from when I was younger. My last memory from 7th grade was PE when we were in our Olympic teams. This team has taught me many things, such as cooperation and determination in sports. Even though I wouldn’t say I like many sports, I had lots of fun working with my team and winning games. Another reason the Olympic games are my favorite is that I get to experience new sports and play a sport while having fun!

Candle And Resin Making Final week 20% Project

Hi again! I can’t believe how these eight weeks went by so quickly, and now it’s almost time to share my wonderful project! This week, I put myself in charge of making my previous two crafts and making them better! I made candle succulents, and with resin, I made a tic-tac-toe board! I accomplished many things this week, such as finishing my candles and creating resin art. In addition, I completed designing my trifold board, which I will share at the evening event on Wednesday. Even though I had to compete with making two things at a time, I even got time to make a script for myself. This leads me into my struggles. I struggled with managing both projects to ensure they were done. Also, the resin took a long time to dry, slowing down my process. I am so sad that this amazing project is over. I had so much fun every week completing and learning new crafts. Overall, over the past 8 weeks, I am proud to say that I’ve achieved my goal for the 20% project!

My Mom My Bestie

My mom is someone who has been influential in my life. There are many reasons why my mom is my number one. First of all, my mom is the one who brought me into this world and took great care of me. Without her, I would not even be alive. My mom has always been there whenever I struggle or need extra support. She guides us to the best possible pathway to become successful in life. This shows that my mom wants me to have the best life possible. Also, her affection and comfort through hugs help me get through hard times. Another reason is she encourages me to set goals, work hard, and achieve my best self. I can think of many times when I felt discouraged, and my mom lifted me up and encouraged me to achieve the goal. In addition to her wonderful support, my mother has taught me kindness, compassion, and leadership skills that I will treasure for my whole life and use in daily tasks. I am gratified to have a loving mother who would do anything for me, even if it affects her. Everything she has done for me has shaped me into the person I am today!

Candle Making Week 5- 20% Project

Hi again, for week 5 of my 20% project, I made Candles! Throughout this week of joy, I had various amount of accomplishments. First, I learned the surprisingly easy process of candles; each time I made one, I got better results. In addition, in my candles, I learned the proportions of how much color to add to my candles. Also, I made around three candles this week. In my opinion, this week was full of worthy achievements. I only had one struggle this week, which was keeping a nice and calm melting temperature. This was very hard because I had to ensure the wax was cool enough to add the scents. An adjustment I will be making is my time management since next week, I will be tasked with doing two of the previous crafts I’ve done! Both of the crafts are time-consuming. The two crafts I will be doing are Resin and candle making. For week six, I will make a tic tac toe board with resin and succulents with wax.

Rad Reading – April

In April, I read the book Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone. Every Last Word is a realistic fiction story about a girl named Samantha who has OCD. The story revolves around her life at school. To help cope with OCD, she explores many methods, one of them being her love for poetry. Even though she is in the popular group, she feels lonely and the odd one out, who experiences a lot of stress and anxiety. She struggles having a crush with a student who is a senior at high school named A.J She also struggles fighting some battles with herself and this group of friends she hangs out with. Eventually, she gets her life together and is ready to start a new chapter pursuing her love.

I do not recommend reading this book. There are various reasons why I personally did not enjoy this book, but overall, the main factor is that the book contained a lot of explicit details, that might seem inappropriate for certain age group. In addition, I was disappointed to notice the way the author uses her choice of vocabularies with repeated fowl language in expressing the characters emotions. I personally rather read a book that would expand my vocabulary where I can use to enhance my knowledge and writing skills. Also, This was a very uncomfortable read not allowing me to dive into the story and all the details around it. However, the one thihg the author does well is explaining Samatha’s feelings and describing the explicit make-out scenes.

My favorite character is Samantha, and I say that because she is determined towards her goals. She also has a lot of empathy towards her friends and wants to make everyone happy. Samantha grew as a character in many different ways. She began her journey with her friends as a lonely girl and a little lost. Throughout her experience, she grew immensely and noticed that being in a popular group isn’t anything special; the only thing that matters is having good friends by her side. A quote representing her determination is, “One breath, Two breaths, Three breaths.” Pg 214. I chose this quote because it shows that since Samantha has OCD, she has learned many methods to help her, and she is determined to learn many more.

My favorite quote from the book is on page 372, it states, “You will never know what someone’s going through. Be kind Always.” This is definitely my favorite quote throughout the book because Samantha has been through same situation being bullied, so this quote definitely came from the heart. In addition, this serves as a reminder to be kind to everyone you interact with as you do not know what kind of struggles they are facing every day. . Also, this was a very sweet way to get the story!

Bracelets Making Week 4 – 20% Project

Hello again! For week 4 of my 20% project, I made bracelets. Throughout the week, I pondered on ideas from Pinterest which helped me plan what design to experiment with. In addition, I had to plan a tight schedule since we only had 33 minutes of work time. I had many accomplishments this week, and some of them include, the short time I was given I was able to make one bracelet. This may not seem like a lot, but getting all the beads, colors, and add-ins takes a long time to prepare. I had only some struggles, such as, once I completed the bracelet, finding the right size was an issue. Also, once completed, the bracelet tie was very difficult as I would drop the string, and all the beads would fall off. There would be no need for adjustments this week since I will be doing a new craft. Next week, I decided that I would be trying to make candles!

Resin Art Week 3 – 20% Project.

Hello again! For week 3 of my 20% project, I made resin crafts such as bookmarks. Throughout the week I experimented with trying to create different styles. I had many accomplishments this week. I looked up YouTube videos teaching me how to use resin. Additionally, I did some planning and research about my final piece. The last accomplishment of the week was I created lots of different kinds of designs and made around ten bookmarks. I did not have many struggles besides measuring how much resin to use and learning how to get smooth edges. Since my project is creating crafts, I will choose a new project for the next week. Some adjustments I had to make were choosing a craft to fit with the state testing schedule. My initial thought for the next week was to learn the process of candle making, since this is a lengthy process I’ve decided to move it for the following week. Instead, next week I will be taking the task of making bracelets.

Digital Ad Making! Week 2

For week 2 of my 20% project, I had many failures and some accomplishments. The only accomplishment I had this week was getting used to the app and creating only one animation! I had many struggles, such as the app not working, the struggle to find new ideas, and just working the app out was very difficult and frustrating. On Friday, when we got work time, I dreaded every moment. I was bored and just slumped in my seat throughout the whole period. And did absolutely nothing. I really wanted to succeed in this digital ad-making, but it got boring for me, and I was immediately wanted to switch subjects. This leads me to my adjustment. I have decided that I will be changing subject to Arts and Crafts! Some crafts I will be doing for the next four weeks are resin art, candle making, and bracelet making. For week three, I will be doing resin art. I’ve already have bought all of the essentials except one item that is coming on Wednesday. The next week, I will be searching for inspirational photos on Pinterest about candles. After I get all of my research done, I will be making candles.

My Love for My Bedroom!

The room in my home that is my favorite is my bedroom. I love this room because everything is in the mid century modern aesthetic and is all decorated and designed by me. In my room I have white walls and 3 long windows that give’s me natural light. Even though I have natural light next to my bed on the night stand there are 2 gold lamps giving my light at night. My bed is black has a grey headboard, white sheets, white duvet cover and lots of accent pillows. My favorite part of my room is my closet because everything is organized in colors. In addition my closet is an area that I display souvenirs from place I’ve been. Some of these places include the Seattle Space Needle and the Chucullay Garden of Glass. In addition my room is the best cozy room to relax and be myself. Lastly my room is for myself and I can do anything I want such as read a book in peace, sleep, make bracelets and make candles. For these reasons this is why my bedroom is my favorite room.

My Summer Wishes

During the summer break, I wish to do many fun and engaging activities. Some activities that I would love to participate in are seeing my cousins and going to this fun water park called Wild Rivers. One reason I would like to go to Wild Rivers is when I went last year, I had a blast. All of the rides were very fun and exciting. Another activity I would like to do is going to Laguna Beach with some friends to play in the water and enjoy the lovely environment. I would love to go on so many adventures and trips, but here are my top three destinations that I would enjoy going to. I would want to go to Seattle. One reason why Seattle is my first pick is most of my dad’s family lives there, so it would be really fun to see family that I rarely visit. Another area I would like to visit is Europe. I have many reasons why I would like to go to this country, but my main reason is I’ve never been out of the country before and this would be a very cool and educational trip. Also, I have heard from my parents that Europe is a beautiful place. In addition, I shall go to the most lively area known in California, Las Vegas. I’ve been to Las Vegas many times, and in my opinion, it is one of my favorite places to visit during the summer. I love how Las Vegas has so many museums everywhere you go, which makes the experience fun because you mainly walk around in Las Vegas.
